CHRP Johnstone K. Tarus

CHRP-K certified and a Founding Partner of Skill-GAP Solutions LTD, Johnstone is an HR and organisational-performance professional with more than 15 years of practical experience. He holds an MBA from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), where his research examined how HR practices shape organisational commitment — work reinforced by publications in 2023 and 2024.

His expertise spans human resource strategy, talent acquisition and executive recruitment, performance management, employee engagement and retention, organisational development, training, compensation and benefits, and the design of HR systems and processes. He has also held management and board roles across a number of organisations.

His approach is deliberately methodical: understand the organisational challenge, design a tailored solution, implement it effectively, and measure the results. Underpinning it is the conviction that high-performing organisations are not built by chance but deliberately shaped — captured in his guiding principle, “People. Performance. Systems. Results.”

Sammy Maiyo

With over 14+ years of experience managing human capital across private-sector organisations, Sammy Maiyo brings deep practical expertise to every HR engagement. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management. He is also a Full Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM), Kenya.

His extensive professional experience has placed him at the centre of strategic people decisions, with expertise spanning talent acquisition, organisational structures, employee relations, rewards and benefits, performance management, HR policies and systems, and employee development. This depth of experience enables Sammy to understand not only the technical requirements of HR, but also the people dynamics that influence organisational performance.

As Skill-GAP Solutions LTD’s Human Resource Specialist, Sammy brings a practical, results-focused approach to helping organisations build stronger people systems and higher-performing teams.
